Welcome to Matthews Coach’s Corral, located in the heart of the Ozarks, where our passion for excellent cattle drives our farm. At Matthews Coach’s Corral, we specialize in Angus-based phenotype females with strong EPDs. We run an operation dedicated to producing quality Angus, Simmental, SimAngus, Red Angus cattle. We have spent decades building our Power Plus Genetics herd, featuring show cattle, breeding stock and herd bulls.

 

The roots of Matthews Coach’s Corral originate with my great-grandfather, who farmed 80-acres in Buffalo, Missouri. My father, Eddie Matthews, continued with the farm, even after accepting the job of men’s basketball coach at then Southwest Missouri State University. My interest and involvement in raising cattle followed me through childhood, my years of coaching at Drury University, as athletic director for Springfield Public Schools, and now in retirement.

 

My wife, Becky, shares my devotion for raising quality cattle on our 80-acre farm in Fair Grove, Missouri. In recent years, our daughter Cheryl Kepes, her husband Steve, and their daughters Alexandria and Rebecca, have moved back to the Ozarks. We are pleased they are now working with us in the cattle operation. Our granddaugthers are enjoying all they are learning and the friendships they are making while showing their Simmental, SimAngus and Red Angus heifers.
